The Rio Grande Soaring
Association is dedicated to preserving the sport of hang gliding and paragliding in
southern New Mexico and western Texas.
CAUTION: Hang Gliding and Paragliding are not safe activities! There is a signifigant chance that free flight will result in severe injury or even death. DO NOT FLY if you are not willing to take full responsibility for your own safety and the safety of bystanders. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Stay home and watch TV if you want perfect safety.
Our main flying sites are Dry Canyon in Alamogordo NM and Franklin Mountains State Park in El Paso, TX. The RGSA cooperates with the City of Alamogordo, the Lincoln National Forest, and Franklin Mountains State Park of El Paso, TX to keep our sites open.
The RGSA is chapter #41 of the United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (USHPA).
We offer full membership (for pilots), dual membership (for members of other USHPA clubs), and associate membership (for non-pilots). Please use our membership page to get more information.
